How long does dental sedation last?
Nitrous oxide works quickly and wears off within minutes after stopping the gas, allowing you to resume normal activities.
Depending on the medication and dosage, oral sedation lasts longer, typically a few hours. You may feel drowsy for the remainder of the day.

Can I drive myself home after sedation dentistry?
If you receive nitrous oxide, you can drive home once the effects wear off. If you take oral sedation, you will need a responsible adult to drive you home, as the effects last longer and may impair your coordination.
